'It seems to me that this festival is sort of a cauldron, where all the bad things smelt and give birth to a good new Ukrainian tradition of tolerance and respect of one nation to another,' director of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Charitable Foundation 'Hesed-Arieh' and the chairman of the LvivKlezFest 2016 organizing committee Adel Dianova said.
The festival has been held since 2009. It contributes to the revival of Jewish culture and the development of Ukraine’s Galician multicultural city of Lviv. The organizer of the event is the All-Ukrainian Jewish Charitable Foundation 'Hesed-Arieh'.
The program of the festival is many-sided and includes various interesting exhibitions and theatrical performances, master classes on Jewish and modern Israeli dances, chamber, bard and outdoor open-air concerts.
The gala concert will be held at Market Square on June 5. It will be a grand concert with the participation of world-class musicians, well-known klezmers from Israel, Germany, the USA, Poland and Ukraine in the very heart of the city. World-famous Daniel Kahn, Alan Byrne, David Kristian and Frank London will be among the participants of the festival.
