Watch: Battalion 'Azov' protests in Kiev - Ukrainian capital is being guarded by 2,000 policemen

The protesters have lit smoke bombs. The Azov’s large-scale protest has been going on near the Verkhovna Rada for several hours. They are expressing the disagreement with holding elections in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Thousands of activists have lit smoke bombs simultaneously, creating a wall of smoke near the parliament.

About 2,000 persons from police and the National Guard have been involved to the measures to ensure public safety and order. Police officers are working in an emergency mode to provide Kyiv’s residents and guests with order and safety.

The protesters started to light smoke bombs and pyrotechnic devices on their way to the Verkhovna Rada.

The activists arrived to the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at 11 a.m. Several dozens of protesters lit fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices.

Police is urging the protesters to keep the law. They will bear administrative or criminal responsibility in case of any law violations.
