According to Rollingstone, Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized due to 'complications from the intestinal flu.'
Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to cancel their Saturday performance at the annual KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, California at the last minute after Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized.
In this case, drummer Chad Smith shared on Twitter:
'No one's more disappointed than us that we couldn't perform tonight. Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony.'
Chad Smith, Flea and Josh Klinghoffer came onstage to explain that they would not be performing.
Flea said: 'We live to rock, we live to fucking dig deep into the depths of our hearts and rock, but unfortunately there's a medical thing that happened and we needed to deal with it, so we're unable tonight. We will play for you very soon, we will play for you like the feral animals that we are, and we're so sorry.'
Red Hot Chili Peppers, or abbreviated as 'RHCP', are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983.
The group's musical style primarily consists of rock with an emphasis on funk, as well as elements from other genres such as punk rock and psychedelic rock. When played live, their music incorporates elements of jam band due to the improvised nature of much of their performances.
American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will release their eleventh studio album 'The Gateway,' slated to be released through Warner Bros. on June 17, 2016. This will be the band's first studio album since 2011's 'I'm with you.' It was produced by Danger Mouse, who replaces Rick Rubin after twenty-five years and six albums as the band's producer, making it the first non-Rubin produced album since 1989's 'Mother's Milk.' The album was preceded by the first single 'Dark Necessities' on May 5, 2016.
