Ukrainian singer Jamala performed the song '1944' in the final of Eurovision 2016 and won a stunning victory in the contest by beating 25 candidates from other countries.
Ukraine received the first place with a total score of 534.
The second place was given to the representative of Australia Dami Im with her song 'Sound of Silence' that got 511 points.
The third place went to Russian singer Sergey Lazarev, who got 491 points from the jury.
Jamala accepted her victory in a very emotional way. The singer gave way to tears just on the stage. A Ukrainian candidate wished peace and love to the whole world at a meeting on the Eurovision’s results.
Everyone could clearly notice that Jamala was very nervous during the whole contest. Australia initially got the first position, but everything radically changed later.
A very intense struggle between Ukraine and Russia was introduced in the final part of the positions’ distribution.
Jamala’s performance made the audience tremble. A lot of Internet users highly evaluated the emotional Ukrainian singer.
According to Dialog.UA, Ukrainian jury gave no points to the Russian representative.
