The opening became possible due to donations of the singer and the local Ukrainians. Tina Karol took part in the opening of the Ukrainian community center in the town of Derby near London.
Ukrainian diaspora’s patriotism greatly impressed Tina Karol during one of her concerts in London, where several thousand of her British fans sang Ukrainian anthem with her.
The singer spends a lot of time in the British capital as she is creating her new album there, and therefore could not visit the local Ukrainian community on Easter. Tina Karol didn’t attend the solemn opening of the center alone. She took her son Veniamin with her. He became a sacristan a year ago and assisted a priest during the service in Derby.
The diaspora’s representatives were touched with the singer’s gift. Tina Karol presented an ancient Athos icon known as Our Lady of Perpetual Help that is more than 400 years old.
