Veterans of the UPA, Red Army and fighters of ATO symbolically exchanged their caps as a sign of peace and unity on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted this on his page in Facebook.

His report reads that the veterans of the Red Army and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army along with the fighters of anti-terrorist operations exchanged caps as a sign of peace and unity in faithful love for the motherland on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation.

On May 8-9, Ukraine holds events in honor to the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the victory over Nazi invaders in WWII.
