The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, is pleased to announce the formation of its 2016 Ambassador’s Youth Council (AYC), the mission of which is to contribute to the continued development of Ukraine by engaging, empowering, and amplifying the voices of Ukrainian youth.
This year’s AYC includes 21 young Ukrainians from all over Ukraine. They range in age from 18-32, and represent sectors as varied as academia, PLAST, government, NGOs, and human rights. Members were competitively selected after being nominated by U.S. Embassy employees and partners, including the Ukrainian government.
Over the course of the next year, the AYC will contribute to the Ukrainian-American dialogue on issues deemed critical for both countries. They will also advise American policy makers on important issues for Ukrainian youth; design and participate in community and volunteer programs; and devise creative, practical and concrete solutions to the problems facing young Ukrainians today. Additionally, AYC members will have the opportunity to attend meetings with visiting American officials and other specially arranged events and opportunities.
Congratulations to this year’s AYC members!
