According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Lithuania is the most russophobic member of NATO. He noted this in an interview with Sweden’s newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
'NATO understood that Russia wasn’t safe for the Baltic States. But if one makes them members of NATO, they’ll calm down. Thus, they joined the alliance but have been feeling no peace, especially our neighbor Lithuania,' Lavrov said.
'For certain reasons, Lithuania is the most aggressive russophobic country which is pushing NATO for the anti-Russian course,' he stressed.
Speaking of Latvia and Estonia, Lavrov described the fact that Russian-speaking population in those countries had been granted the status of non-citizens as “striking cynicism.”
Furthermore, Russia will take military-technical measures in case Sweden decides to join the alliance, Lavrov says.
