Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov reacted to the interview of the American leader with TV channel CBS, in which Barack Obama claimed that Vladimir Putin allegedly considers NATO and European Union as threats to Russia.
'The President repeatedly emphasized the desire of Russia to build mutually profitable, favorable, and constructive relations with all countries of the world. He constantly says it,' mentioned Peskov to the journalists.
The Kremlin representative also pointed out the actions of the North Atlantic Alliance.
'Regarding someone who represents a danger, —here, we should not forget the NATO headquarters and leadership statements, which are constantly heard during the last few years, that they consider namely Russia as a danger. Such statements are not limited to words. We see that certain steps are taken in order to increase a military potential towards the Russian borders. It is enough to state the obvious facts,' concluded Peskov.
Earlier, the US President Barack Obama claimed that the Russian leader Vladimir Putin 'is wrong', perceiving NATO and European Union as a threat to Russia.
