Memphis Police Department: Armed suspects looted cash and a handheld computer at the Food Mart

Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at approximately 8:43 a.m., officers responded to a robbery call at 1252 E. McLemore, The Food Mart.

Officers spoke with the victim who advised that at approximately 8:30 a.m. he was delivering a shipment of Coca-Cola products at the Food Mart when a male Black approached him with a black semi-auto handgun at the rear of his truck and told him to 'give up everything.' The victim reported that the suspect got out of a white Chrysler 300, which was driven by an unknown female and occupied by two unknown males. Cash and a handheld computer were taken in the robbery.

During the preliminary investigation, security footage revealed that the images of the suspect inside the store was of one of the passengers in the vehicle.

The victim advised while she was working in the store, two unknown males entered. One suspect demanded all of the money. The victim complied with the demand. Both suspects fled from the store toward Trezvant, north of Summer Avenue.

The suspects are described as two (2) male Blacks, 18-25 years old. The armed suspect is described as 5’08,' 160 lbs., wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes. The suspect inside the store is described as wearing a light colored polo shirt under a black jacket with letter 'L' on the chest.

No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
