According to Nielsen Music, Sales of Prince's music have rocketed since the artist's death last week. On April 21, 2016, American musician Prince died at his home, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
Nielsen Music reports that in the three days after his death there were 2.3 million Prince song sales and nearly 1 million on April 21.
The top eight spots on the charts were occupied by Prince's songs: 'Purple Rain,' 'Little Red Corvette,' 'When Doves Cry,' 'Kiss,' 'Let's Go Crazy,' '1999,' 'I Would Die 4 U,' and 'Raspberry Beret.'
Prince Rogers Nelson was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He was a musical innovator and known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, extravagant dress and makeup, and wide vocal range.
He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award.
