According to Ukrainian TV channels, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced peculiar functions that will be executed by the OSCE armed police mission in eastern Ukraine.
Poroshenko informed that the police mission will set the real bombardment directions along the line of contact, and define the violators of ceasefire regime. The OSCE police mission also will place valid armed checkpoints in places of heavy equipment removal. Moreover, special armed units will monitor the delivery of Russian military equipment and ammunition to 'DNR' fighters on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Petro Poroshenko noted that the task of OSCE police mission will consist of three stages. In the first place, it is important to establish strong security measures. The next step will be the preparation and holding of elections in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, ensuring free will expression, access to the media, and protection of election committee members. Finally, the third stage consists in the transfer of authority to newly elected representatives of the Ukrainian Donbass.
Poroshenko stressed that we can assume that the OSCE mission has completed its task, only after completion of all these processes.
