According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, more than 26 thousand soldiers have received the payments. Over 26 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received more than 118 million hryvnias for their participation in combat operations in the ATO, Head of Communications and Press Ministry of Defense Oksana Gavrylyuk reported.
"Currently, 1,500 ATO soldiers have received UAH 4,763,000 for fulfillment of combat missions as part of different subdivisions and over 26 thousand soldiers have got more than UAH 118 million for the direct participation in battles," she said.
In addition, about UAH 4 million will be paid to 805 militaries for participating in combat operations in the nearest future.
Moreover, families of dead participants of the ATO have received UAH 1 billion 197 million of one-time financial aid, and 409 million were paid to those soldiers who had obtained injuries and disabilities.
It has been reported that the Ministry of Defense paid UAH 16 million to the ATO’s soldiers.
In January, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko offered the then Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk to examine a question of increasing military salaries.
