According to CBS, a small single-engine plane crashed in New York. The aircraft crashed in a residential area on Long Island shortly after taking off from a nearby airport.
According to media reports, the plane had the engine problems in the air. When the aircraft had tried to return the airfield, it touched the power line and crashed into a tree.
A pilot was hospitalized in serious condition with two broken legs and a head injury. And the passenger,was expected to be OK. No other injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. An FAA spokesman says the plane was a Piper 28, CBS New York reported.
