The President noted that in the last two years, Ukraine had managed to rebuild the army and make a first but critical blow against corruption.

"The capital renovation of the anti-corruption institutional system has been finalized. From now on our priority goal is to make it functional and operational." Petro Poroshenko said.

At the same time, the President noted that the appointment of new highly professional, responsible, well-trusted Prosecutor General would trigger a new page in anti-corruption policy of Ukraine.

According to him, Ukraine has managed to stabilize economic and financial situation. Its golden currency reserve has grown from virtually zero to $13 billion.

The President mentioned efficiency of Ukraine in stabilization of the banking system, deregulation sphere, simplification of business registration and tax system. "We have taken hard but important decisions in the energy sector which lead to Ukraine’s energy independence," he said.

"After decades of keeping Ukraine on the gas needle – now Russia is knocking on our door asking to buy some gas," the Head of State noted.

Petro Poroshenko emphasized successful launch of the new police, which enjoys high level of social trust. He mentioned the role of the U.S. police, which inspired and helped in the formation of the Ukrainian law enforcement institution.

According to the President, Ukraine has stepped up onto the public service reform and introduced e-government.

"A lot is still to be done. And I will do my utmost. The drive for reforms is there," Petro Poroshenko noted.

The President said that the latest governmental crisis was a challenge, but "we have to come out of it more resilient to internal and external shocks". The Head of State believes that the formation of a new government and coalition should be based on clear principles with a clear program for the government based on IMF commitments, Association Agreement with the EU, anti-corruption fight and the Minsk agreements implementation.

"We don’t give up despite the pressure we face every single day on external and internal fronts," the President concluded.
