The taxi driver randomly shot people in different parts of the State of Michigan. As a result, he killed six individuals, including one 17-year-old teenager.

Jason Brian Dalton, 45, was arrested for the shootings at three different locations in Kalamazoo, with no apparent links between him and his victims.

Four people – Mary Lou Nye, 62, Mary Jo Nye, 60, Barbara Hawthorne, 68, and Dorothy Brown, 74 – were killed outside a restaurant. Two more victims – Tyler Smith, 17, and his father, Richard, 53 - were shot dead outside a car dealership.

According to Dalton's family, Jason had started driving for Uber within the last two weeks, often spending many of his evenings picking up fares. He was also employed as an insurance adjuster.
The police of Michigan has found information that Mr. Dalton had time to pick up and deliver customers in the period between the murders.

Dalton denied saying anything at the court hearing. He was denied bail.
"We just can't figure out the motive," public safety chief Jeffrey Hadley told CNN. "There's nothing that gives us any indication as to why he would do this or what would have triggered this. The victims did not know him; he did not know the victims."
