According to Reuters and CNN US President Barack Obama plans to visit Cuba in March.

The exact date of the visit still is unknown. On February 18, they will officially announce about the planned visit.

US presidential candidate from the Republican Party senator Marco Rubio, whose parents left the "Island of Freedom" more than 40 years ago, has criticized Obama's decision saying that Cuba has anti-American communist dictatorship along with a repressive regime, RIA Novosti reported.

Last July the United States and Cuba re-established diplomatic ties and opened their embassies in the capitals after the 50-year-long break.

On December 17, 2014, Barack Obama addressed American nation and announced a change in policy towards Cuba and the improvement of relations. At the same time a similar statement was made by the President of Cuba Raul Castro.

On May 29, 2015, the US officially removed Cuba from the list of states which sponsored terrorist organizations.
